Subject to state and local COVID-19 restrictions, the league will follow these competition guidelines and modifications to the standard set of league rules:
- Competition may be held either indoors or outdoors.
- For athletes, coaches, or other observers at competitions or practices held indoors, face coverings are recommended, but not required.
- When on the sidelines or not actively playing, 6 foot distance should be maintained between people at the event.
- Anyone with COVID symptoms (fever, cough, etc.) or who is in isolation/quarantine while recovering from a COVID infection should not participate in practice or competition. Temperature or wellness checks before each activity are encouraged where possible.
- All participants should wash or sanitize their hands (using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer) before and after competition or practice.
League Rule Modifications for Outdoor Competition
In the event that a team competition will be played outdoors (rather than indoors), these rule allowances should be followed for the matches:
- A player is allowed to wait before serving, if he or she feels that the current conditions (wind, etc.) are going to interfere with the ball during the point.
- During a rally, either player or can raise a hand in the middle of a point to call a let in the case of any sudden change in playing conditions (due to wind, weather, etc.) that may affect the point. Upon calling a let, the point will replayed.
