If don’t have a rating or aren’t sure what your skill level is, just follow these steps to get an initial league rating:
- Find a local club and talk to the owner (let the owner know you are interested in playing in the teams league and looking to get an estimated rating)
- Many clubs have weekly round-robins which are a fun way to play some new people and get an estimated rating. Just make sure you show up a few minutes before the start time and let them know that you’re interested in getting a rating for the LA Ping Pong team league.
- If you can’t make it to a weekly round-robin or your local club doesn’t have one, a club owner can record the results of your matches with several other players at the club who have ratings already and send us the results.
- The earlier you do this, the better. It will allow us more time to process your rating and more importantly give you more time to find teammates.
If you’re confused, need help, or your eyes glaze over when you read the word “rating,” feel free to contact us and we’ll help you out.
